our team

We have dedicated and very committed teachers that have served in the school for a long term. Their focus is on giving the best to our children. Below are some of their reflections.

TEACHER GEORGIA

I was inspired by not only one, but a group of  the 6 year old children. During our Chinese New Year party celebration in school, the group gathered, talked, and laughed together in their little bubble while enjoying their meal. I was taking pictures of the children eating and having fun. When I went to their table, I was suddenly overcome by a wave of emotion I cannot explain. I knew this group had a special bond. I decided to treasure it with a photo. I think their friendship will last a long time.

TEACHER ZARINA

I already have 3 years of experience with 2-3 year old children.even though i have experience in taking care of my siblings and nephews during my teen years. Ever since i starting taking care of the Taska children, I feel the same sense of loving and caring towards the kids. I am also doing my best to help them  to be independent, and the results are satisfying as the children are very supportive and mature at their very young age. There are moments where I cannot explain how I feel whenever i am with them.❤

TEACHER JOYCE

I am a new teacher at Little shepherd . I appreciate that I have this chance to join the Little Shepherd team. Even though there’s a small number of children, I enjoy my time with them. They are so smart and many of them are independent and helpful. The eldest of children know how to help the teachers to look after the smaller children. The children are precious to me, and I care for them a lot. I’m very proud of my students.

TEACHER JESSICA

Teachers do more than teach, and their impact extends far beyond the classroom. As a teacher, we are more than just an educator but also a mentor and a friend. Last year was my first time teaching 6 year old students. I was concerned about a few of the students because we’d been through a lot at the beginning of the year. I did my best to educate them not just in terms of academics but also attitude and behavior. There were times when a few of them complained about the way I taught them, which made me worried. I explained to them that everything I am doing is for their best. What inspired me the most is that at the end of the year, these students became more mature. This made me feel that the few months I spent to guide them was worth it.

As a new teacher at Little Shepherd, this is my first experience in the education field. In these 2 weeks, I have learned a lot from teachers and students about academics, manners and self-worth. The 3 year old children inspired me in so many ways, especially the way they manage their own responsibilities, interact with the teachers and their peers. They are so friendly, and they cheer me up which makes me feel more confident in teaching them. The thought of seeing them everyday makes me want to explore more in the field of early childhood education. I am excited to be their teacher.

Like what teacher Georgia mentioned about the 6 year olds enjoying their time chit-chatting, I felt that they are like adults gathering after some years. I am inspired by that because as a teacher our role is more than anyone can understand. Under our wings we are their guardians. At the end of the day, the fulfillment we achieve is unexplainable. It’s a gift from God for us to be teachers.

For the first month, it was a bit of a challenge for me. I felt down because I thought I could not handle 10 of them. I asked myself, why do some children cry when they come to school? I feel blessed because my colleagues always support me and give me advice. Now, I feel more confident and have learned how to understand the children’s needs.

I am inspired because at the beginning of this year, every time i come to school and look at our children’s faces, i am excited! I am excited to learn about how to better teach our children and give them confidence in themselves, increasing their skills and social abilities. I am really proud to be a part of the Little Shepherd family. Having  lovely, friendly, joyful children and an amazing team is such a motivation for me to keep going!
